Rotax engine fitted into 251 chassis with redesigned frame which is more than up to the job. Early 500R doesn’t even make it as ugly as sin, replaced with the slightly less offensive Silver Star. Saxon Tour, Fun and Country are much more interesting (from ’93 on). Rotax motor generally tough for the first 30,000 miles but some ran on worn out cam belts which did in the top end. Spares are okay, possible to upgrade the motor into more powerful form.
